Enhance Your Emotional and Spiritual Well-Being With an Astrology Journal
Unlock your full potential with astrology and thrive as your highest version of self
At our core, we are an unblemished expression of the universe’s boundless energy. When we take on human form, we transform into distinct beings, forced to navigate the intricate illusion of physical existence. In the world of maya, we often lose sight of our divine roots and instead let our egos take the lead.
Unlocking the true purpose of life involves living authentically and rediscovering our divine nature.
For 26 years, I've delved into the world of astrology, using my unique gift to guide both myself and others in fulfilling this glorious purpose.
I firmly believe that astrology goes beyond star positions and is rooted in the powerful archetypes found in our collective unconscious. The stars act as a cosmic timepiece, revealing the energies present at any given moment.

A natal chart is a map of the sky at the location, time, and place of birth. It reveals the prevailing energies aiding and hindering your soul’s evolution. Like a cosmic blueprint that comes along with each human life, it shapes and guides your experiences in the world. Real-time celestial transits constantly interact with our natal charts, influencing the unfolding of our spiritual journeys.
Exploring and monitoring the natal (and other) astrological charts cultivates awareness and offers a powerful mechanism to enhance spiritual growth. By tapping into the wisdom of planetary movements, you can establish a direct connection with the universal consciousness. This allows you to trust your inner guidance and make choices that truly serve your highest good.
Let me demonstrate how maintaining an astrology journal can support your spiritual growth by showing how I integrate it into my daily life.
Let’s first explore the basics of a natal chart, which roughly looks like this:
The circular natal map is divided into 12 sections called houses. The sign of the first house in your natal chart is your Ascendant or Rising sign. It symbolizes your soul's purpose and its expression in the world. It reflects the unique qualities you are destined to nurture in this lifetime to actualize your true path. In addition, it determines which zodiac sign occupies the remainder of the 11 natal houses.
Each house corresponds to certain life areas:
1st house (Ascendant): personal identity, soul path, and outward projection
2nd house: finance, personal values, and abundance
3rd house: communication, learning, and local community
4th house: home, family life, and emotional well-being
5th house: creativity, self-expression, romance, and hobbies
6th house: daily routines, service, work environment, and health and wellness
7th house: romantic relationships and platonic partnerships
8th house: intimate bonds, joint resources, and psychological evolution
9th house: belief systems, philosophy, higher education, and travel
10th house: career, public reputation, and professional ambitions
11th house: social circles, aspirations, and community involvement
12th house: subconscious and spirituality
Natal planets reside in a house, informing activities governed by that house. For example, my natal Sun is in the third house, meaning I am a skillful communicator who derives immense satisfaction from sharing ideas. It’s, therefore, not surprising that I enjoy writing and podcasting.
As the planets move in the sky, they pass through different natal houses, triggering events related to the themes of the house. Additionally, they intersect with the natal planets from various angles, adding unique shades to the planet's influence.
Now that you've grasped how a natal chart functions, let’s look at an entry in my astrology journal.
On July 15, 2024, Uranus made a conjunction aspect to Mars in my natal 2nd house while Jupiter also moved through my 2nd house.
That’s a lot of jargon, so let me explain.
Uranus is the planet of innovation, unexpected change, and individuality, and Mars is the planet of energy, action, and assertiveness. A conjunction occurs when planets are within 5 degrees of each other, resulting in each planet amplifying the influence of the other. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, prosperity, and growth. The second house governs self-worth and material and spiritual abundance.
Based on these astrological configurations, the prevailing energy on that date was as follows:
Initiating (Mars) unexpected change by embracing my individuality (Uranus) to boost my sense of self-worth and confidence (Jupiter) and manifest abundance (2nd house)
When I journal, I approach it as a heartfelt conversation with my higher self. Prior to writing, I consider the astrological influences and how they might appear in my current reality.
This is what I wrote that day:
Before reviewing the astrological transit, I couldn't understand why I was so hesitant to start a newsletter. I was already writing on Medium, so I was comfortable sharing my work, but something about a newsletter specifically bothered me.
Everything clicked when I learned of the energies at play.
After months of Uranus urging me to make a change, it was the encounter with Mars that finally ignited my readiness to take action. Jupiter had been moving through my second house since April 4, 2024, slowly encouraging me to bolster my feelings of worthiness and open myself up to receiving abundance.
I now had an awareness of a latent belief that had been hindering my progress. I used the insight to modify my thoughts and move forward. Had I not known about the energies at work, I might have agonized over my decision for months or, even worse, not taken the risk at all.
Months later, I’m so happy I confronted my issues and took action. While my subscriber count is still modest, I’ve had 1,000s of article views, which is a far more critical metric, in my opinion. That’s roughly 10x more views than I had cumulatively after five months on Medium. I’m now achieving my intended goal—reaching people.
As a bonus, I’m part of the wonderful Substack community where I genuinely feel at home.
By tapping into the universe’s energetic fabric, I’m right where I belong.
